lightning strike addiction

I can't stop looking at this site today... there's a huge big yellow patch over Berkshire right now... hope it comes this way...

By the time I read this, the Big Yellow Patch had moved, gone away or just ignited itself and fizzled out...

But what I want to know is why was it YELLOW?

I've always thought lightning would be white or, at least, electric blue...

Maybe it goes yellow when it's 'going-off' - like some foods...

Anyway, there's no sign of lightning today, but I shall keep checking --- just to be sure you're not making all this up!

uncovering old lath and plaster

This morning this was a blue-painted wall which collapsed in less than two minutes in two almighty thumps revealing all this lovely lath and plaster work. This surely hasn't been seen since 1879 when the house was built and is a rather beautiful piece of handiwork. Sadly it will all be stripped out and replaced tomorrow with something less interesting and which probably won't last nearly as long.... but I am reliably told it has to be done.
And me and the builder are listening mainly to The Silver Seas.
